Beg to inform, heading south.

Here I go. The bulging bags and ready, I’m about to have the last weigh in (and probably have to repack a few things) and then I’m off to the port to board the big red ship.

We had our safety briefings, lifeboat drills and ship tour yesterday (as pictured) so it’s all reasonably familiar now. I feel a heady mixture of excitement and terror. I think the excitement has the upper hand. The prospect of the rough seas (which came back to me in a flash when I saw the safety videos) has caused me some wide awake moments in the night.

OK – the weigh in is done and I’m a few kilos over. Time to repack! Farewell all, fingers crossed that my mac is compatable enough with the shipboard satellite system that I can keep posting my blogs via email.

Bon voyage Jesse! May the seas be calm and if not, may the drugs be good. Look forward to reports from en route.

  2. Sarah says:

Oops – that Bon Voyage comment that says it was from you was in fact from me…… (Sarah). My fault. (Hopefully this one will come from me.)

  3. Shirley says:

Bon voyage. And as the Irish say turas sábháilte – safe journey.
